Ghost Driver’s official Roblox description lists four PC control groups: W, A, S, D or the arrow keys to drive; V to change camera or enter first person; Shift for handbrake or drift; and L for headlights. It does not separately document throttle, brake, reverse, rebind options, sensitivity, controller, or touchscreen mappings.
Official keyboard lookup
Choose WASD or arrow keys
WASD keeps the movement hand close to Shift, which can make handbrake access easier. Arrow keys may suit another keyboard position or preference. Both are official, so use the set that supports small steering inputs without reaching awkwardly.
Do not change schemes mid-run while learning. Use one for several lane-hold and single-change drills, then compare the other under the same conditions. Comfort and correction count matter more than convention.
Test “Drive” carefully
The official description groups movement under one word. The common layout suggests expected forward, lateral, and reverse roles, but test the current client instead of presenting convention as first-party detail. From a standstill, press one movement key briefly and record the response.
Check how the car transitions between slowing, stopping, and reversing. Vehicle physics can change while the key list remains constant. Keep the first test away from traffic.
Use V before a tight gap
Press V while holding a clear lane. Observe each current view and stop on the one that gives you enough road and vehicle information. First person is official, but the complete camera cycle is not public.
An external view can reveal rear rotation and side traffic. First person can improve nose placement for some drivers. Use the view that reduces late corrections, and avoid switching in a narrow cut until the transition is familiar.
Use Shift as a deliberate input
Start with a short Shift press at manageable speed. Release and straighten. If the car spins, shorten the press or lower speed. If little happens, check focus and change one variable.
Do not hold Shift as a panic response to every late lane choice. The Handbrake Key guide gives a full press-release-recover drill.
Use L where headlights are visible
Toggle L in a darker scene and look at the road ahead. In bright conditions, the beam may be subtle. Headlights improve contrast but do not widen the camera or reveal a blocked exit.
Test persistence after changing car or server only if that question matters. No official save behavior is public.
Fix a key that appears unresponsive
Wait for the car and HUD to load. Close chat, Shop, customization, or any focused text field. Click the game viewport and test one official key. If the operating system or browser intercepts it, restore focus and use the Roblox client normally.
Rejoin one current server only after the bounded focus check. Do not change every Roblox setting while diagnosing one control.
Rebinding and device limits
No public first-party source confirms key rebinding or sensitivity settings. Check the current settings menu and record visible options. Do not promise a rebind that is not present.
Mobile and controller mappings are outside the official key list. Use current on-screen prompts and record device, platform, and date before sharing them.
Keyboard mistakes
- Testing while chat or a menu has focus.
- Switching camera for the first time during a close pass.
- Holding Shift without learning release timing.
- Deciding L is broken in full brightness.
- Calling common WASD roles officially documented beyond “Drive.”
- Copying controller or mobile buttons from another game.
Keyboard controls FAQ
What are all official PC keys?
WASD or arrow keys drive, V changes camera or first person, Shift uses handbrake or drift, and L controls headlights.
Can I use arrow keys?
Yes. They are explicitly listed as an alternative to WASD.
Can I rebind controls?
No public official confirmation was found. Check the current settings rather than assuming.
Why does Shift not drift?
Close focused UI, click the driving view, test on open road, and adjust speed or press duration one variable at a time.
